Elevation 5280 Description

Welcome to Elevation 5280!

Every window offers spectacular mountain views in this mile-high (5,280 feet) gem nestled beside the black diamond slopes of the Beech Mountain Ski Resort. This cabin provides the perfect location for vacationers looking for the most astonishing and breathtaking 180+ degree views of the Appalachian Mountains. Watch the fall colors blaze in October! Ski, snowboard, tube, and skate during the winter months. Go hiking, biking, or play disc golf during the spring and summer. Plan your next excursion with family and friends at this vacation gem.

Views of Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and the backbone of the Appalachian Mountains are constantly framed in the windows of this newly renovated 3BR/2.5BA cabin that sleeps 7-10 comfortably. In just seconds, you can be on the slopes or ice skating. Mountain biking, hiking, and disc golf are just outside the door as well. Enjoy a meal or beverage in the Beech Mountain Ski Village at the bottom of the slopes or the 5506' Sky Bar at the top.

This vacation home features a large, modernized kitchen with new granite countertops and a bar. The fully-furnished kitchen includes brand new appliances and cookware, affording you all the conveniences needed to prepare a family breakfast or a gourmet dinner.

The spacious upper floor has two large, sliding glass doors leading to an open deck and many windows providing panoramic, layered mountain views. The living area has a gas log fireplace that provides toasty warmth after a day of skiing or outside activities. If you prefer to move the party outside, over 1000 square feet of new decking on two levels, equipped with a gas grill and deck furniture, awaits. For those who would rather stay inside, a 55" Smart TV offers a great view of your favorite sporting event or programming, and a variety of board games and books provide varying levels of entertainment.

Three bedrooms and two baths provide a cozy, comfortable sleeping/lounging area on the lower level. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a 50" Smart TV, a small walk-in closet, and double sliding glass door access to the exterior decks. Watch your favorite programming on the TV or open the blinds and watch a spectacular sunrise from the lower floor master bedroom. You could also step out on the expansive deck and have a cup of coffee while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

A newly tiled master bath also provides modern and luxurious conveniences. The second bedroom is equipped with a queen-sized bed, a 50" Smart TV, and a closet, while the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin mattress on top and a full mattress on the bottom. This bedroom is also equipped with a beanbag bed as well as a 50" Smart TV. There is a second bathroom and a washer and dryer to use as needed during your stay. All bedrooms have individual wall heaters, so you can adjust temperatures to match your tastes. All full bathrooms have an individual digital thermostat to provide additional heat as desired while bathing.

Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk Winery, Tweetsie Railroad, Sugar Mountain, Flat Top Brewery, Linville Caverns, zip-lining, whitewater rafting, Sugar Creek Gemstone Mine, and Mystery Hill are only a short drive away if you are looking for a quick daytime excursion. Nature lovers can enjoy the deer, bears, raccoons, and other wildlife from the comfort of the living room or deck as the creatures feed while moving up and down the mountain. Depending on the season, you can also select and cut down a Christmas tree to take home for the holidays.

The winter climate can be extremely cold and snowy, so plan accordingly. Snow covers the ground most of the winter. At the mile-high elevation of 5280 feet, even the summer months are cool and breezy! Typical summer high temperatures are in the 60s and 70s, often dipping into the 40s or 50s at night.

Our goal is to provide the perfect vacation spot for you. We welcome open, honest feedback and will attempt to provide everything to help you make wonderful memories! Hope you enjoy your stay!
