Welcome to Watauga Flats!
Watauga Flats is a beautiful log cabin on the Watauga River in Valle Crucis with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. You will find custom wood features, skylights and hardwood floors throughout. All of the bedrooms have classic upscale country decor. If a quaint riverside mountain cabin is what you are seeking, Watauga Flats delivers!
Located only a mile from the historic Mast General Store and Valle Crucis Riverfront Park, Watuaga Flats is also convenient and central to all the High Country offers. Boone is only 5 miles away, Banner Elk is about 9 miles away, and Blowing Rock is only 11 miles away. Snow skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating are nearby, with Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Appalachian Ski Mountain about 12 miles and Beech Mountain Ski Resort only 14 miles away. Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines is only about 11 miles from the cabin. Grandfather Mountain is less than 15 miles away, and Tweetsie Railroad is only 10 miles from Watauga Flats.

The cozy living room has a gas fireplace set into the stacked stone wall, a flat screen tv with paid programing and skylights above providing wonderful natural light. A banquet-style dining table seats up to 6 guests. The kitchen has gorgeous granite counters, high-end stainless appliances and a large center island for laying out wonderful meals.
The main floor bedroom has a queen bed where you can hear and see the Watauga River flowing nearby. There is a main floor bathroom with a frameless glass door tiled shower, and a soaking tub. Upstairs offers flanking bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. A full central bathroom with a step-in shower services both upstairs bedrooms. The open loft has a TV and sitting area with a sofa that converts to a double size sleeper for two extra guests.
Off of the dining and living room is an open-air wrap around deck with a view of the big backyard and the Watauga River. It features a gas grill, an outdoor dining table, and chairs, a hot tub, and seating.
Watauga Flats offers all the comforts of home with WIFI, paid TV programing, mini-split air conditioning and a washer and dryer. Heat is supplied via a Rinnai Direct Vent Furnace to keep things cozy in the cabin. The cabin allows up to two pets, additional pet fees apply. Winter travelers are recommended to be prepared for unpredictable weather with 4WD or AWD vehicles, and during deep snow or ice chains may be required.
